An Anomaly

is an official event by Niantic: during four measurements, the two factions fight.

A Cluster

is the place where the anomaly takes place. There are four cluster areas, one for each measurement.

A Measurement

The anomaly sites are measured four times during the event, within 10 minutes of known checkpoints. In that window, Niantic selects a specific “moment” to count the points for volatiles, links and fields. Details for calculating the points are published from Niantic shortly before the event takes place.
